Discovering Grizelda

I've had a number of people ask how I discovered the tumor. (I've named her Grizelda and have let her know that while I have nothing against her personally, she needs to find a new home.)

The discovery is a miracle. I had a head cold that would not go away--complete with cough, congestion, ear ache, etc. After four weeks of that I decided I must need an antibiotic and so made a doctor's appointment. I couldn't get in to the doctor for two weeks, but when the time came I still had the cold so I went. I seldom go to the doctor and so while I was there the thought came to me that I ought to ask her about these strange head aches I get. They are only in the back of my head on the left side and I only get them about every six months.

When the thought first came to tell her about them, I stopped myself thinking, "Sherrie, don't be such a hypochondriac." But again I felt like I should bring it up so I did. After I explained that I get these headaches, she said, "Only on the left side?" I answered yes, and without any more questions she responded, "I'm going to order an MRI." She didn't even ask how often the headaches occurred. I'm sure that if she had, she wouldn't have ordered an MRI!

Looking back on it, I know that the spirit was prompting me to complain and that the spirit prompted her to order the MRI. The interesting thing is that the tumor has nothing at all to do with the head aches. The tumor is in the orbital and couldn't cause a pain in the back of my head. So I am convinced the Lord sent the headache so I'd complain! The Lord works in mysterious ways, his wonders to perform!!!

The miraculous thing is that we discovered Grizelda before the symptoms started to manifest. If we hadn't found her before the symptoms, there would have been irreparable damage and possibly worse than just damage.

I've also been asked which hospital I will be in and it will be the Utah Valley Regional Hospital. Please pray for the doctors that they will be guided and directed! They are Dr. Todd Cook (the ophthamologist) and Dr. Lynn Gaufin, (the neurosurgeon).

Thanks again for all your love and support!

  4. Sherrie, I just learned of your bad news from a group email that Carl sent. I am very sorry. I keep hearing about people with brain tumors and I feel like there's an epidemic. We will definitely pray for you and hope for the best.

  5. Advice: If they are going to shave your head, have them make you a wig with your own hair. They did that for a friend of mine that had breast cancer.

Also, I have a friend, here in WA state that does hypnotherapy, who had covenanted with the Lord to do it for free. She healed her own cancer and 60 other peoples as well. A medical college is waiting for her to finish her bachelors, so they can use her ideas to get grants and do research. It's also helped with other physical ailaments. Might want to look into that!

From, Becky, a random stranger to you, but friend with Mariah.

  7. Sherrie, We'll be praying for you this Friday. Dr. Gaufin operated on me 14 years ago and is very, very competent and has a good bedside manner. He's one of the best. May this be one of life's trials with a happy result! Remember the adage: "I never said it would be easy, I only said it would be worth it!"

  8. There is a medical term called "referred pain" I am wondering if those headaches could have been caused by the tumor? What did the doctors say?

  9. What we THINK about and THANK about is what we BRING about.
"Life is not about the shoes you fill, it's about the lives that you change through the footsteps you take."
My darling Sherrie, honestly, you have the the Attitude of Gratitude or as Wayne Dyer teaches, 'The Power of Intention.' Your blog is full of thankfulness to your Lord and Savior for the impressions, guidance and love He has and is showing you each and everyday with this. Your Intention is in focus and you are well on your way through this journey of being perfectly healthy. The lives you've touched and will touch will change us all to embrace the example of your faith and trust. Our prayers are with you and your loved ones. Friday, we will have you ever close to our hearts, prayers and thoughts. On Friday, have dreams of the wonderful peace in your mountain trail nest. With Love, RaNae

  10. I heard this story in a fast and testimony meeting in Idaho a few weeks ago. It is a Chinese tale. I really like it!

A simple farmer had a horse and a son. One day the horse escaped from the corral. All the neighbors said, "Oh, we're so sorry, what sad misfortune has befallen you!" And the farmer said, "I don't know if it is bad luck or not, all I know is that my horse is gone."
Days later, the horse actually came back, and brought another horse with it! All the neighbors said, "What great luck you are having now!" The farmer said, "I don't know if it is good luck or bad luck, all I know is that now I have two horses."
Then the son was trying to tame the new horse, and fell and broke his leg. All the neighbors said, "What bad luck!" The farmer said, "I don't know if it is good luck or bad luck, all I know is that my son has a broken leg."
A few days later, a general came to the village and drafted all the able-bodied young men into his army. The son, with his broken leg, was spared.
We never know all the consequences of things that happen to us!
    Love you so very much,
    Jennie
