Making Deposits in the Memory Bank

The holidays are over and it is now time for life to get back to normal (whatever normal is!). But normal will be much more enjoyable if we remember the things we celebrated during the holidays. Memory is a valuable tool for Living in Truth. Some of us tend to remember the good things that happen to us and let go of the bad. Others of us tend to catch hold of the bad and cling to it in order to justify our view of the world. But memory is selective and you are in charge of selecting what you remember.

So carefully review all that happened the last two weeks and throw out all the bad memories and savor all the good ones. Consciously review the good sights, sounds, feelings, smells and delights of the last two weeks and store them up in your heart where you can review them often. Say a prayer of thanks for those good things and bring them to mind whenever you start to feel faint-hearted or discouraged or negative.

Living in Truth takes a little work, but it is worth it. The exciting thing is that the more you do it, the easier it gets.
