One of the things that pushes many of us into the Pit of Illusion is noticing how unfair life seems to be. We see others who don’t try as hard as we try and yet they prosper more. We see others who do nothing wrong and yet have terrible adversity befall them. Seeing things on the news such as the devastating tornadoes that hit the South recently or the tsunamis in Malaysia or the earthquakes in Japan sink many people not only into vexation but into doubting God.
However, the reason we don’t need to let these things sink us into despair and sorrow is because God is a just God. We can trust in that. Yes, these people are suffering for a time, but God will recompense every hurt and injustice inflicted upon them. He will help them. And He will send others to help them.
While some are not comforted by that thought and rage against God, the prophet Abinadi taught that eventually “every nation, kindred, tongue and people shall see eye to eye and shall confess before God that his judgments are just” (Mosiah 16:1). And Alma testifies, “Yea, even at the last day, when all men shall stand to be judged of him, then shall they confess that he is God; then shall they confess, who live without God in the world, that the judgment of an everlasting punishment is just upon them” (Mosiah 27:31).
In other words, in the end we will ALL recognize that everything was fair. So if eventually we are going to realize that, how much better to accept that fact now and avoid the unnecessary pain that comes when we fight against the Truth by fighting against what is.
I like that. thanks :)
