We talk about our Savior, Jesus Christ, in our homes and in Church meetings. We think about Him as we pray and study scripture. This is wonderful and good, but instead of just thinking about Him we need to recognize why we think about Him. What is it about Jesus Christ that is so important to us? In other words, our devotion to Him needs to be more specific.
Especially as we approach Thanksgiving and to enrich my Thanksgiving experience, I’m going to acknowledge not only that I am grateful to my Savior, but the many reasons I have to be grateful for Him. For a beginning, He saved me from sin. He saved me from eternal death. He comforts me. He makes miracles happen in my life. He heals my troubled soul. (You take it from here!)
Jesus Christ is our Savior, but what does that mean personally in our everyday lives?
it means when i am feeling completely alone and overwhelmed and that nobody knows how i feel, there is someone who does and i only need to turn to Him and seek comfort b/c he DOES know!
He loves me no matter what and never turns away from me even when I sin. He wants the best for me and know me better than anyone.
Thank you Sherrie for you blog. I am new to it and find you so wonderful. Reading your blog reminds me of what I know and feel and helps me get thru the week from sunday to sunday.
I appreciate what you wrote and also what the two commenters before me wrote. I echo those sentiments.
I know that He knows me individually and that He loves me completely because He suffered for me personally and because He has the ability to love perfectly. Because of that He can comfort me and help me through my struggles when no one else can. I'm thankful for His Atonement and all that it means for me and for all of us.
I'm also very thankful that because of His suffering and resurrection, each of us will be able to enjoy a perfect and peaceful existence in the next life without the hurt, sorrow, confusion, and struggle that we may experience in this earthly life. :)
