Our Day

We couldn't have created better weather yesterday. Last year we either broiled in the sun or got drenched in a down pour every day. But yesterday the temperature was perfect and a slight breeze kept the air cool and blew the muggy humidity. Three buses were already there when we arrived and a steady flow of people kept coming all day to keepus busy. The best part was that D1 and some of her family came through to give us hugs. In other words, it was the perfect day.

After our shift we drove out to a strawberry and raspberry farm called Chase Farms. There is a little fruit stand and concession stand on the farm where they sell delicious fresh strawberry shortcake. I enjoyed every bite and on our way back we stopped at the Palmyra temple to walk a secluded path in the trees that border the temple.

In the evening we drove to Canandaigua, one of the beautiful Finger Lakes, for a two hour dinner cruise on the Canandaigua Lady. My meal was terrible (It is the downside of being a vegetarian in a carnivore’s world), but the others seemed to enjoy their prime rib. However, the cruise around Lake Canandaigua was wonderful. Everywhere we looked beautiful homes filled the lakefront, sail boats coasted gracefully against the sunset, and beautiful clear water rippled against the boat. In short, we all enjoyed an ideal evening.

It just doesn't get better than this.
